Namate!
I
recently visited my hometown "Tumlingtar" after 11 years in
the Eastern Himalayas of Nepal. I was born and raised there. I did my
elementary through high school as other kids. I found a lot of things that have
changed especially after the whole region was connected with the national road
network.
I briefly met with my colleagues, relatives and family friends. I was lucky to meet and greet with few of my teachers who taught me the alphabets and letters. I was also able to visit Chainpur, the old HQ of Sankhuwa-sabha. Unfortunately,I couldn't go to Khandbari that is so much changed as I am told. The whole area is going and developing each year, but I am so much concerned how the lives of the people/residents have changed (improved) social-economiclly and politically.
Arun Valley is also naturally beautiful and culturally diverse destinations of Makalu Region of the Himalayas.
For those, who do not know about "Arun
Valley" the deepest Valley in the world, which is also home for more than 650 species of birds and over
800 species of butterflies. Additionally, this valley is a home of endangered
Panda. One thing, I noticed the region seems more greener, stable and safer in
terms of natural disasters, although we have multiple rivers and high
mountains in the area.
