Suresh has over two decades’ work experience with
specific knowledge in non-profits project management, community-based health
research and development. He has a PhD in Social Welfare form University of
Hawaii at Manoa (USA), and a Masters’ Degree in Health, Population and
Nutrition from Keele University (UK). He was an East West Center / Asia Pacific
Leadership Fellow (2007).
He has a unique blend of academia, research and
management experience and passion for managing research and advocacy projects.
He has worked with diverse populations in Nepal, Hawai‘i and the US Affiliated
Pacific Islands, in the field of population health and social welfare. His
passion and research / scholarship goals are to serving the under-served,
minority, geographically challenged (rural) and resource limited communities;
and promoting social justice and health equity.

as a senior research coordinator, based in Kathmandu. Similarly, he serves as a
board of directors for Community Leadership Nepal, a not-for-profit company. Dr. Tamang is currently engaged in conducting
health and public policy research, advocacy and University teaching in Nepal.
He has been supporting NGOs in developing project proposals and designing and
conducting health and social research studies in Nepal.
